Westport Bike Hire is a family-owned and operated business located in the heart of Westport on James Street, proudly serving visitors for over 15 years.

Situated beside the Great Western Greenway, one of Ireland's most scenic cycling and walking routes, we are the perfect starting point for your adventure. Discover the beauty of Westport, Newport, Mulranny and Achill Island while taking in breathtaking beaches, mountains, lakes, castles, abbeys and the unique wildlife that makes this region so special.

Whether you're an experienced cyclist or simply looking for a relaxing family day out, we have the perfect bike for you. Our fleet includes hybrid bikes, gravel bikes, electric bikes, children's bikes and more, allowing riders of all ages and abilities to explore at their own pace.

You can hire a bike from either our Westport or Achill locations. For added convenience, we also offer an optional daily shuttle service from Westport to our Achill store at 09:30 and 12:00. Your bike will be waiting for you on arrival, allowing you to enjoy the spectacular Greenway ride back to Westport. Advance booking is recommended.

They made it easy to bike the Great Western Greenway from Achil to Westport, with a comfortable shuttle-dropoff. The greenway is a beautiful way to see Ireland. We used the e-bikes, which was worth the extra cost. That is 26 miles with a couple of long, slow hills on the Westport end. We are 60, but in good shape and just off of a walking tour of Western Ireland. We stopped at a pub for lunch. Very nice way to spend about four hours.

I rented an ebike from Westport Bike Hire while in Westport for a family reunion. I rode the bike from Westport to Newport on the Greenway. It was a fabulous ride on a beautiful sunny day and the views of the countryside were gorgeous. Rental was easy, bike was fun to ride, and great service was provided by Kevin. The shop is easily located in the center of Westport.

I can highly recommend Westport Bike Hire,we were with a large group and we all got bikes and equipment that suited our different needs . They offer a very professional service, Excellent bikes and the shuttle bus was great too,the staff were friendly and helpful giving us advice all the best restaurants, bars and sites to visit etc Top class, keep up the good work.

Westport bike hire are a great company to use they provide a shuttle out to achill sound which is great as to cycle one way can be enough for some. Very good experience and would highly recommend. The greenway is must do if you are staying in the area it is absolutely stunning and great way to take in the amazing countryside.

It is 43km or 26 miles. Achill to Mulranny = 13km Mulranny to Newport = 18km Newport to Westport = 11km.
